Garbage Garage Education Center is located at the Larimer County Landfill and it’s the perfect place to learn how a landfill works, what gets made from all that stuff you recycle, and more!
You will start the adventure by entering the ”Mountain of Trash”, which is a tunnel-like hallway covered in discards from the landfill. Here, you will learn about how much trash you create, where it goes, and alternatives to throwing it all away. There are many displays for different age groups, from preschoolers, elementary to college students, and senior adults!
You can also find free and fun activities for visitors of all ages to learn about waste issues and the environment, including tours and field trips, birthday parties, workshops, special events, and drop-in visits!
